Out-Patient Chemical Dependency Treatment

The Hope for Youth Family Service Center is licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) as an Out-Patient Adolescent Chemical Dependency Program. The target population includes adolescents who are using drugs and alcohol, or children who come from family systems which have a history of substance abuse. The Family Service Center provides clinical services designed specifically to address the issues unique to adolescents, children and families struggling with substance abuse.

The Family Service Center staff have extensive experience in working with youth and families involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. We provide both diagnostic assessments and ongoing treatment services to children in foster care, youth under probation department supervision and to the families of these youth. We are committed to educating adolescents and their families about the harmful effects of substance abuse and giving them the tools to live chemically free and productive lives.

Our primary clinical focus is helping clients identify the damaging affects of substance abuse upon their own lives and the families. Adolescents learn how to navigate and map out their lives without the use of chemicals. Youth and families are treated with respect and are often able to find their inner voice and identify and build upon innate strengths. Many of our clients have gone on to attend college, armed services, and achieve gainful employment. Each client receives an individualized treatment plan and has the opportunity to participate in developing their treatment plan goals. Clients receive services from professionally trained and licensed or credentialed therapists in group and individual settings. Parents may participate in treatment through family therapy, giving them the knowledge necessary to help facilitate their child’s recovery.
