Hope For Youth

A Word from our Executive Director

Dear Community Members,
During this unprecedented time we wanted to take a moment to connect with all of you to provide some information about our continuing operations. Consistent with Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order, in our home and community based programs, Hope For Youth is implementing a model of service delivery that relies on phone or web based contacts as a challenging but necessary adaption to the Coronavirus risk. Our residential programs are designated by New York State as “essential services” and remain open to care for children and youth during this challenging time. I am terrifically proud of our dedicated direct care staff that continue to maintain a supportive, therapeutic environment. We have implemented teleconferencing for our mental health and substance abuse treatment programs, and are offering modified visiting for youth and families relying on advancing our technological capacity as rapidly as we can. We continue to offer virtual interviewing for new staff members and virtual required training for all staff. Our team of dedicated professionals at Hope For Youth and our partner agencies continue to collaborate to ensure the needs of the children and families of Long Island are met. We wish health and wellness to the entire community.

Sincerely,

David J. Hegarty, Ph.D
