Black History Month

February is dedicated as Black History Month, honoring the triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout U.S. history, including the civil rights movement and their artistic, cultural and political achievements. In honor of the month, Hope For Youth placed an easel and board in the main lobby, highlighting a selection of African Americans and their achievements. Staff and visitors were invited to provide a name of an individual, add them to the board and share why they saw he or she as a hero/heroine.

There are many individuals to choose from, deserving of recognition for their many accomplishments!
