HFY CEO and Darryl

The Legendary Darryl Strawberry joined HFY staff and youth recently to talk about his youth, the trauma he experienced, the personal challenges he faced as an adult and how he overcame all this to be where he is today. His story was inspirational and we were appreciative that he chose to share it with Hope For Youth. Darryl’s life of perseverance through a difficult upbringing in South Central Los Angeles, attainment of professional sports stardom, and the pitfalls of addiction that hindered his career and at one point derailed his life, were openly discussed.
