Become A Foster Parent

Through out the foster care field research shows that children to best in placements with people that they know and trust. At Hope For Youth we strongly encourage those close to youth, such as family friends, godparents or neighbors step in and provide the child with a loving & stable home. When kin are not able to step in, children need foster parents who are ready & prepared to help them cope with their traumatic experiences and stay committed to helping them return to their parents. Research shows that children thrive in a well established family environment when in foster care. Hope For Youth partners with our foster parents to ensure that they are prepared to walk through this journey with all of the youth that are placed in their home.

Thousands of children across Long Island are in need of love and care. Be the one to make a difference in their lives! Become a foster parent and give the gift of childhood! You will not be alone in your journey; all Hope For Youth foster families receive Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting trauma-informed training which educates each parent about the child welfare system as well as the necessary skills to be a successful foster/adoptive parent. We also provide an ABC Parenting Skills certification with helpful workshops throughout the year. We make sure our foster care families are trained and certified for both Therapeutic and Regular Foster Care.
