Hope For Youth

Multidimensional Family Therapy Training

Hope For Youth clinical staff were excited to attend a 3 day training in the SAMSHA approved evidence based model of family therapy, Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT).  HFY was honored to have the training presented by the founder of the MDFT model, Dr. Liddle and an outstating trainer from the MDFT International, Shazia Kareem, LPC.  Our therapist and case managers from our three residential prevention program; the OASAS licensed Outpatient Clinic, Community Reinvestment Program, and Supervision and Treatment received this training with intent to be certified as MDFT therapists and caseworkers.  This training enhanced our staffs’ inspiration and knowledge to work with youth and families.  Therapists will continue to be trained through ongoing supervision by the MDFT International Trainer for the next 6 months before they can receive their MDFT therapists’ certifications.  MDFT program supervisor also will be trained to receive certification as MDFT supervisor and trainer.  MDFT team is proud and looking forward to gain knowledge in one of the most effective therapy models that addresses teenage substance use and family discord.
