Hope For Youth

Seven Challenges

Hope for Youth has been awarded a multiyear contract through the Research Foundation of New York State.  Through this funding, Hope For Youth Out-Patient Clinic staff will be trained to use the evidence based treatment model Seven Challenges with adolescents aged 12-20 in need of substance abuse treatment.  Dr. David Hegarty, Executive Director & CEO of Hope For Youth noted, “HFY was chosen in part because of our extensive experience in providing clinical treatment to youth with substance abuse and mental health disorders.”

As part of this project, HFY will collect data using the Global Appraisal of Individual Needs, an evidence based bio-psycho-social assessment tool that will measure the impact of the treatment with the youth and families who participate. This information will then be compiled with that of other providers throughout NY State to further inform policy and program funding for substance abuse treatment for youth.
