Hope For Youth

Suffolk County Supervision and Treatment Program

Through the Suffolk County Supervision and Treatment Program(S&T), Hope For Youth strives to teach at-risk youth healthy behaviors to avoid detention, legal involvement and violence, while improving school attendance.

About the Program

The primary objective is to prevent the placement of youth in detention and/or OCFS placement. Suffolk County Probation refers youths who meet the eligibility requirements.

Hope For Youth Multi-Dimensional Family Therapists and Case Managers monitor safety and risk through weekly visits with youths and their families. Through evidence based models of clinical interventions issues of truancy, substance abuse and at-risk behaviors are addressed.  They also provide life coaching that encourages positive life changes while assisting the family and advocating for outside support including housing, finances, utilities, and referrals to other services. Case Managers work with caregivers to complete a 9-session parenting program, and with youths to complete the Ansell Casey Life Skills Assessment. This is extremely useful in creating an independent living skills development plan.
